Alsace - Oleander - Nerium oleander
"Alsace" ist eine starkwüchsige Sorte mit gutem Austrieb aus der Basis. Die Blätter sind groß, dabei aber schlank. Aus den zartrosa überhauchten Knospen entstehen einfache, leicht duftende Blüten. Die Blütenblätter sind fast weiß und erinnern somit an unsere einheimischen Obstbaumblüten. Das leichte Rosa der Knospen ist auf der Rückseite der Blütenblätter deutlich zu sehen und schimmert hindurch. Dies in Verbindung mit der roten Zeichnung im Schlund erzeugt den Hauch von zartrosa, den die Blüten, aus der Ferne betrachtet, haben. "Alsace" ist regenunempfindlich und versagt selbst bei schlechtem Wetter nicht. Nach Schlechtwetterperioden ist sie mit die einzigste, noch blühende Sorte auf dem Oleanderhof. Diese Sorte ist unverwechselbar und als robuste Standardsorte mit Dauerblüte ist sie ideal für Einsteiger und sollte in keiner Sammlung fehlen.
